
Advocacy & Rights
ICE believes that everyone has the right to:
- Be independent, keep their information private, and speak up for themselves, or have someone speak up for them if needed.
- Receive services that meet their unique needs and Individual Support Plan, without being judged based on gender, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, or background.
- Get quality support that protects them from any form of abuse, including mental, physical, or financial abuse.
- Be involved in creating, changing, or reviewing their Individual Support Plan.
- Be informed about:
- ICE and the services we offer
- The process for appealing decisions made by ICE about services, and do so without fear of unfair treatment or discrimination
- Any changes in policies that affect the services they receive
- These rights ensure that everyone is treated with respect, has the support they need, and is fully included in decisions about their care.
Client Rights
ICE requires all agency staff to go through Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol Training and Protection for Persons in Care Training. As a person receiving service from ICE, you have the right to know about the Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol and Protection for Persons in Care Act. ICE also offers training to individuals which includes Cultural Appreciation, Client rights and Abuse Prevention, Scam Awareness, Healthy Boundaries, and Conflict Resolution.
