Independent Counselling Enterprises (ICE) supports adults with disabilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives. Our Payroll team plays a critical role in supporting our staff across Alberta by ensuring payroll is accurate, timely, and compliant. We value professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement — and we’re looking for a Payroll Coordinator who shares those values.
Role Summary
As a Payroll Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day payroll operations for ICE, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on schedule. This role provides leadership to Payroll Assistants, supports departments with payroll-related inquiries, and ensures compliance with employment standards and internal timelines.
This position is well suited to an experienced payroll professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, including verification of employee time sheets using Ceridian Dayforce
- Ensure payroll deadlines and time lines are consistently met
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to Payroll Assistants
- Audit Records of Employment (ROEs) for accuracy and compliance
- Act as a liaison between payroll and other departments regarding payroll matters
- Respond to payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
- Complete related administrative duties as assigned
- Promote teamwork and positive workplace culture
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, or a related field
- Working knowledge of Employment Standards and payroll regulations
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a strong asset
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)
- Two work-related references
