Our Payroll team plays a critical role in supporting our staff across Alberta by ensuring payroll is accurate, timely, and compliant. We value professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement — and we’re looking for a Payroll Coordinator who shares those values.

Role Summary

As a Payroll Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day payroll operations for ICE, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on schedule. This role provides leadership to Payroll Assistants, supports departments with payroll-related inquiries, and ensures compliance with employment standards and internal timelines.

This position is well suited to an experienced payroll professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, including verification of employee time sheets using Ceridian Dayforce
  • Ensure payroll deadlines and time lines are consistently met
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to Payroll Assistants
  • Audit Records of Employment (ROEs) for accuracy and compliance
  • Act as a liaison between payroll and other departments regarding payroll matters
  • Respond to payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
  • Complete related administrative duties as assigned
  • Promote teamwork and positive workplace culture

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards and payroll regulations
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a strong asset
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)
  • Two work-related references
