Advocacy & Rights
ICE believes individuals have a right to independence, confidentiality, and to self-advocate, or if unable, to have someone advocate on their behalf.
Individuals also have the right to service provision according to theirs needs and established Individual Support Plan, not restricted by gender, age, race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, or colour.
Individuals have the right to quality service and support that reinforces freedom of mental, physical, and financial abuse. They also have right to be fully included in the planning, revision, or review of their Individual Support Plan.
Individuals have the right to be informed about:
- ICE and the services being provided
- the appeal process and to appeal decisions made by ICE regarding service delivery without fear of reprisal or discrimination
- any Policy changes affecting service provision
