Health and safety is a crucial part of ICE’s operations. Our robust health and safety systems safeguard our employees and individual’s well-being and encompass policy, regulations, and training to minimize workplace hazards, injuries, and illnesses. Our health and safety program prioritizes risk assessment, hazard control, and employee engagement, fostering a culture of safety.
ICE is a proud participate of the C.O.R (Certificate of Recognition) program, an occupational safety and health accreditation program that verifies a fully implemented safety and health management system. The agency focuses on continuous improvement and has achieved excellent scores in both external recertification and annual internal C.O.R. audits.
ICE policy and documentation consistently reflect compliance to industry accreditation standards. Management consistently reviews all changes to industry accreditation standards, relevant legislation including Occupational Health and Safety, Protection of Persons in Care, and Employment Standards to ensure policy and procedure remain compliant. ICE has in place complete policies on:

ICE has regional Health & Safety Committees that play an important part in recognizing workplace hazards, improving the safety culture, preventing accidents, and participating in developing and implementing programs to protect our employee’s safety and health. The committees meet monthly and have representation from each level of the agency.
